Do you remember jumping and killing all 4 stage 1 humans with your goon? Well, in Murnatan it's quite impossible with the speed of basic pum, unless you are playing against rookies to FPS games. His speed in comparison to advanced pum is really bad. Even a single human with a shotgun and light armor can sprint, shoot, sprint, shoot and kill you without you getting even close to him.

It's just not good for the gameplay since the moment humans get Stage 2 you are done for, Pitin makes the job of killing them much better since he turned out to be a counter against anything with his speed and rapid bites. I'd love to get a faster Basic Pum so we can counter Stage 2 humans without having to go full Red Army style with Pitins :(

Does anyone else feel the way I do?

Murnatan.com website has a publicly accessible Dev activity which you can click on and it expands. It tells you about their activity - fixing bugs and so on.



Another way to see that they are working is bugtracker.murnatan.com

I am putting these things out for you people who don't know about them, so you know stuff is being done after the first update :)

For ProPanek and other server users - it would be AMAZING if you could keep looking at crashlogs and submit them to the bugtracker so devs could examine them and see what's wrong.
Because with a client crash you lose credits, but if a server crashes, it means your entire base you built for 30 minutes is FUCKING DEAD :(

There were several people upset at me for how easy it was to kill them with a Pitin, they had a helmet and an armor. Sometimes it's basically 3 (head)bites (which are quite rapid in succession) and the hell launcher guy with a helmet and armor is dead. Sometimes it's 4 but it doesn't matter since the biting is fast enough and he can't react swiftly enough.

I must admit it's oddly OP against light armored players. Battlesuits are well protected from Pitin but it's like helmet doesn't make a huge difference.

why is it there? perhaps because of  momentum and physics within the game but it's kind of annoying, I can manage playing with it, but still, it annoys me a lot

I teamkilled a granger with my pounce, which might have been the reason for that. I was fleeing back to the base to heal and when I'd look at my evocount it was 9. Am I having visions or did it actually happen?

Would it be difficult to implement a bind system? I am not used to clicking, I understand this isn't of any priority, I am just genuinely curious about the difficulty of this system.

Discussion / [ReShade] Graphical Enhancement

What this does:
- Improves colors
- Raises gamma
- Improves sharpness of objects and textures (you basically start wearing glasses)
- Reduces 'jaginess' a.k.a. aliasing (NO SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION DUE TO LACK OF AA IN-GAME)

How to install it:

1a) Either download the Reshade.rar and extract everything into this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Murnatan\Murnatan\Murnatan\Binaries\Win64

1b) Or do it manually by yourself:

- Download ReShade
- Run the installer
- Search for Murnatan - the location of the exe should be here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Murnatan\Murnatan\Murnatan\Binaries\Win64\Murnatan-Win64-Shipping.exe

- Choose that .exe file
- Click on OpenGL
- Download the effects when it asks you
- Click Uncheck all
- Select SMAA, Technicolor 2 and Lumasharpen (if you want extra crisp, select Adaptive Sharpening as well)
- Finalize the installation

2) Now if you've done the first or the second type of installation:

- Just launch the game
- Open ReShade menu with Shift+F3 (if you downloaded my .rar file) or Shift+TAB (if you did the second type of installation)
Go to 'Settings' -> and choose 'Performance mode'

3) OPTIONAL

- Customize it in-game by opening its menu with Shift+F3 (if you downloaded my .rar file) or Shift+TAB (if you did the second type of installation)
- After customization (you can change the saturation, sharpening effect, etc.) go to Settings -> choose 'Performance mode'

It has so much fking potential imo BUT here's a list of things I'd like to see fixed (I have this feeling it might be just in rewriting the numbers):

  • INCREASE THE GRAVITY - they all look like they're levitating especially Mara/Narba and Puma's pounce
  • INCREASE THE SPEED of non-adv aliens - they are trash and get easily killed, Pitin is much more efficient especially in swarms
  • DECREASE THE SPEED of humans - they are Usain bolts all of'em
  • SNIPER ZOOM is not good at all, right now you have to hold the button which means it keeps magnifying, the moment you release the key it cancels the zoom
  • PLASMA RIFLE is a fps-drop fest,
  • Can't click Options in the menu
  • Custom settings (accessible only via in-game menu unfortunately) cause a crash except for Resolution rendering
  • Anti-aliasing pls - lemme try reshade
  • Gamma slider

other than that i really like it!

Electric bolts of high current render circuitry burned beyond repair (afaik). Currently, in Tremulous, the zaps simply damage the structures and barely anyone uses it since it's kind of ineffective, unless he wants to annoy the ckits. If a mara starts damaging turrets with zaps, the turret will keep on shooting the attacking mara or anyone for that matter.

Now what I suggest is something that can somewhat/significantly improve the mindset of a teamplay and a coordination of various aliens attacking a base together, while not being too OP.

The zaps will deactivate the damaged turrets for as long as he keeps zapping. Not burn their circuitry, but rather thanks to some protective measures from humans it would merely disable it for as long as zaps are zapping. Perhaps humans could get some late Stage 3 upgrades on the defense computer that would reinforce the circuits of human buildings so the circuitry would be completely isolated.

Now such a zapping attack could turn into an infinite loop of zapping until their base is overrun and this would be quite OP. But, for this case, there should be a limit of zapping introduced, since the Mara/Narba isn't a damn perpetuum mobile that harnesses dark energy from his vicinity. Something like an organ that works as a storage inside the Narbatucker, like an organic capacitor that has to regenerate its electricity stored inside after some use. Same would go for the EVERGASING ADVANCED BASIFUCKINGLISK IN ATCS RIGHT UNDER THE FUCKING HUMAN BASE AT HUMAN STAGE 1 GETTING ENTIRE HUMAN BASE HIGH.

Sounds cool?

was planning on taking a nap due to my diarrhea but while eating my dry pastry and drinking my black tea I thought out a situation: you're chasing an alien you almost killed, you heard him whine as he has low HP, he is faster than you but the map is kind of closed in certain areas and it's possible the alien didn't go all the way to the base, you don't have a radar or if you do it has a short range and all you can do is guess where that nasty (or cute) alien (furlien) went

BUT WHAT IF

there is a blood trail giving away his position?
doesn't have to be a decal that goes along the entire map, just some green blood drops every X meters

i've had countless such moments in Tremulous so I thought this could help, especially humans w/o a helmet hunting a bleeding goon
