EDIT:

What filetype will maps be in T2?  I'm guessing we're moving on from .pk3 files? 

Might try a few maps myself depending on the program required to make them.

Could the devs even consider making a map editor built into the game client itself, like Portal 2 and other recent Valve games?

The hitboxes go both ways too, remember.

While you will actually have to take aim with a massdriver to hit anything, at the same time the aliens won't be able to just stand in front of you.

I personally think the model-based hitboxes are a good idea... though it takes the traditional QA3 feel away from the game, it also adds it's own level of believability and immersion.

Having difficulties seeing it...

A lot of the images on the forums are having clipping issues as far as I can tell (many people's forum avatars as well, including mine).

The little portion I can see though looks promising.

One of the biggest issues for Tremulous in the past has always been a huge lack of publicity.

I probably shouldn't be telling them what to do, but it would do good for the company to try to impress reviewers like IGN, because that's pretty much free advertizing if they can make it even close to the front page.

If AAA Games plans on making games other than T2 in the near future, the best thing they can do is try to raise capital and bring as much attention to themselves as they possibly can... this means contacting reviewers, making YouTube promos, etc.

Selling the game through Steam is a great way to keep saleability up over the long run as well, if they can make an agreement with them.  Steam has a huge variety of buyers in a very small web space, which makes it a great place to be an upstart company.

If they can reach 5,000-10,000 copies in a year at $15~$30 per copy, that's money in the bank.

Not to mention the $40~$80 Collector's Editions if they do decide to do something like that.

If the Trem2 team were to sell merchandise for the game like concept art books, tee shirts or even special skins during the preorder period, I would totally buy.

Or maybe a sort of a Limited Collector's Edition? 

I would pay extra (~$80) for a box and goodies with my copy of T2.

Tremulous =/= Natural Selection.

Trem is better.   ;)


They're the same, and yet completely different at the same time.

I'm just so glad to hear that Trem may be making a huge comeback in the near future.  I was worried we'd suffer more clans disbanding soon.

I allready miss Z server and ACR.

Back on topic, Natural Selection has more of a centralized team structure from what I hear, and Trem is an awesome mass free-for-all o*gy of death.

Trem has, and always will have a special palce in my heart.  I hope the devs will do a good job, and pull off something here that will make 1.1 proud.  And very envious.

I will spend $80 on this game, if that's what it takes.  lol.
