What things makes you happy?

Very few things, to be honest.

Primarily, working on things that I am passionate about, like my clan, certain electrical projects, Murnatan.

I'm a misanthrope though, dealing with people is pretty irritating for me.  Laughing at some people's stupidity is kind of fun.

Breaking rules without getting caught is kind of fun too.   :D

I agree. Atm I'm 17 and in future I want to do something that I like, not all bullshits jobs. Some of you guys must be more older than me. Do you like your current job that you have? (if you have one)

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/07/10-reasons-you-should-never-get-a-job/

Probably the best piece about job vs "your own thing". Couldn't read that too soon.

1. From my own experience - instead of trying to get "one big thing/next_facebook_idea" - start 10-20 smaller things as most of them are going to fail anyway, but you'll get broader experience first.
2. It's better to learn why 19 small things failed than one big since "the one big idea" is going to fail for the same reasons the 19 will fail.
3. Sooner or later some thing is gonna hook and will bring in the dough - and that's the moment you'll get deeper experience in one subject.
4. School/uni - is great, but will NEVER teach you how to make $ doing your own things. Educate yourself while you still have time and don't need to focus your energy on making $.
5. Note your thoughts, ideas, lessons using pen and a notebook. Is there a recurring theme? Also - the quality of your writing reflects the quality of you thoughts.
6. The sooner you start the better, even if you fail a lot. Just don't start by investing $.

Do you like your current job that you have?

I've got a weekend job in a pool and spa store working retail... I wouldn't say it's fun, but it pays for my projects and the things I want.

I eventually plan to become a licensed electrician through a technical college.  Paperwork, algebra, and being polite to annoying people aren't my strong points.  I like to work with my hands, because there are no rules (aside from physics) as to what you can and cannot create given the right funds and enough ingenuity.

job vs "your own thing"

I still agree with the argument that there is far too much of a "money for nothing" attitude in societies today... I am not disputing the fact that free money is awesome regardless, but when people stop working and start leeching the products of everyone else's hard labor, what value are they in the world?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo-cUZ2aRKc

Just remember that Murnatan wouldn't even exist right now if Rotacak had decided to take the easy way out and start drop-shipping packages from home, generating ad revenue on the internet, or some other pathetic back-seat job.  Of course, it's fine if 10,000, 100,000, or even 1,000,000 people take that route... but if every person in the world stopped putting effort into their work, nothing would ever get done.

I guess what I'm saying is, just because you may figure out an easy way to make money with little or no effort, don't treat everyone else that *does* suffer through 8 hours of work every day like crap... or else the next time you need your car fixed, air conditioning repaired, or water heater replaced, you might end up having to do the repairs yourself.   :P

The trick is to do what you love.  If you don't appreciate what you do, you will fail.

"money for nothing" (...)free money
Does not exist in reality. To get you a reality check - give an example of an activity, a business or an individual that "has money for nothing".

Ever tried this "easy" way out? Again no such thing exist in real world.

Guess what I'm gonna say here.

8 hours of work
Start your own business and come back to read what you wrote.

You fail at understanding the basics  :) If there's no one to fix my car that means the car repair position is free  to take. And since there is only ONE car repairman - he can put any price on his work.

I'm not understanding where this argument is going.

To be honest, it sounds somewhat like you are agreeing with me - you are confronting the elitist attitude of "real jobs are for losers and dumb people" found in the link you cited (like I did in my post), and yet you are still attacking me for supporting the legitimacy of traditional income sources.

Clarify.

I can't confront something that is just a false belief. No such thing as elitist attitude exist in real world.

You'll find that most "elite" got there by hard work and being smart.

yet you are still attacking
"Poor Medic is being attacked" vs "he's having false things in his statements pointed out". You get to choose the interpretation.

I'm trying to understand what exactly you are mad at me about, because there is something being lost in translation between languages.  If you are just going to insult me and avoid the question altogether, I'm perfectly happy to stop feeding you.

Happy B-day to you Mr. President, drop the "I'm hurt/people are bad" act and go get laid by some Norma Jean. To do this you gotta be positive and fun as no girl will go for sad and bad-energy guy. Unless of course you're "passionate about it" :D

Where did you get this from? [...]  Quote the point where I insulted you.

As I have said before, I believe the meaning of your posts is not holding up across translation very well.  Inflection is not transmitted across the internet without very careful word placement, and a language barrier makes that even more difficult.

Now, it sounds like you are saying above that you were not trying to insult me in your replies.  I have been trying to get you to explain what you exactly were trying to say in your last three posts, but you keep ignoring my question, so I've been forced to guess at your intent based off of the wording of your comments.

I don't know exactly how you meant some of your statements in your own language, but as they appear in English after whatever translation service you used, some of them carry implied insults that I don't honestly think you intended.  While I am not butt-hurt or offended about what exactly you may or may not have said in that case, you have refused to explain your *true* meaning in your posts, and so I have had to make my own assumptions.

I don't *know* if you are trying to insult me, or just make harmless jokes.  If you want your meaning to be perceived correctly, then you need to explain it better when someone asks for you to elaborate on your intent, as I have already done twice.

Who the hell is Norma Jean anyways?

I don't swing that way, and I'm not worried about -or interested in- associating with other people right now as it is.  If I meet someone that I can stand being in the same room with for more than a few hours, I certainly won't push them away - but until then, that is not one of my concerns.

Quote from: grmg
drop the "I'm hurt/people are bad" act
What exactly do you have against me hating how a lot of people behave?  People are generally disrespectful, two-faced, hypocritical, and otherwise not to be trusted without extreme scrutiny.
