News / We cancelled Kickstarter campaign

We shut down the Kickstarter campaign, because we need to change the game's name and we also need to decide what will be our goal now. Before the next step, we must discuss and answer the following questions in our team:

1) Should we continue with the same aliens?
2) Should we make a brand new aliens?
3) Should we change the whole alien side?

Until these questions are answered, we paused the development.

For those without facebook:

We are sorry to inform you, that Tremulous 2 Kickstarter is now subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.This process can last up to 10 days, the project’s funding and the countdown to its deadline have been stopped. It happened because creator of the original game Tim Angus reported our project for using the name "Tremulous" and due to the similarity of content. Therefore we decided to diassociate of the original game, make no tribute to the original creators at all and in fact, don't even consider it as a spiritual successor any more.

Your pledge on Kickstarter is currently still active. We are very thankful for your backup, however if you’d like to manage your pledge, we understand it.

Because we usually look at the bright side of things, we see that as a chance to get rid of the shackles of the original game and as a new possibility, that will allow us to make even more variable and complex game. We want to assure you, that the development of our project will not be affected by this and we are now commited to bring you a great game more than ever. The game, we would love to play. And we will!

But for now...

We need a brilliant new name for the game! Come visit our forum and tell us what name it should be.

Discussion / New name for our game?

DECIDED: We will have new name.

After discussion here I want to ask you - truly Tremulous fans.

What is your opinion for name change?

I wanted to make Tremulous to live much longer. But now I starting to hate this name (after many years, it is funny). I am not sure if I still want it. Currently I would like to cut everything from this name, let it die and continue with new name without history.

What is your opinion?

Point is to find a movie mistakes in the video.

How may such a mistake look?
For example a person's holding a lighted cigarette in the first shot, but on the next one, the cigarette isn't lighted yet - that's a movie mistake.

Another example are things that are not supposted to be seen in the video. For example an cameraman seen in a mirror.

What's not a mistake?
Trifles are not considered as mistakes.

How to describe a mistake?
Create a new post in a proper section of the forum for any mistake you find and wait for its either confirm or rejection.
